climate
We are a cool, maritime climate in Shropshire with evenly spread rainfall throughout the year. The temperature is moderated thgouthout the year which allows the grapess to slowly ripen, keeping freshness from acidity levels but balanced sweetness from the rising sugar levels. The river reflects sunlight up onto the vines and the breeze keeps the risk of disease low to the vines decreasing humidity with air flow.
The vineyard being situated in Shropshire, so further north than some, still flourishes and will produce exceptional wine with extra care and a careful eye out in amongst the vines managing the growing season.

terroir
Our Terroir is a sandstone, stoney soil which makes an excellent growing environment for our vines. The stones help hold the heat, to give a warm soil for the vines to grow in and the River Tern reflects the sun light onto the vines on sunny days to encourage ripening, in turn increasing the sugar levels of the grapes.
The vines thrive in sandstone ground due to the minerality of such a natural sedimentary rock, which encourages deep root growth into the ground for nutrients, naturally filtered water and good drainage.
The vines are planted down the rolling slopes of the vineyard which allows the frost to roll away and settle at the lowest point, reducing the risk of damage to the vines.
The presence of the River Tern at the bottom of the slopes brings a freshness and cool breeze decreasing the risk of diseases.

vines
We are a 40 acre vineyard in Shropshire. We planted our first field of vines in 2021 totalling 8000 Pinot Noir and 4000 Bacchus vines. This combination allows us to create, red, rose and white, still and sparkling wines.
Early 2023 we planted another 28 acres of vines, choosing to expand on our Bacchus and Pinot Noir varieties and adding Meunier, Cabernet Noir and Chardonnay.
Our vines are planted east to west on glorious sunny slopes in the village of Waters Upton on our farm. We have used metal trellising to guide and hold up our vines as they grow using Vetical Shoot Positioning and produce ripe bunches of delicious grapes.
